Added Support for Word, PowerPoint, Excel, ODF, RTF, and EPUB Files
Phennec can now convert and index seven additional document formats — legacy Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files, PPTX, ODF drawings, RTF, and EPUB.
Phennec now converts and indexes seven additional document formats, so they can be uploaded, searched, and retrieved like other supported files.
Newly supported formats:
- Word 97-2003 (.doc)
- PowerPoint 97-2003 (.ppt)
- PowerPoint Open XML (.pptx)
- OpenDocument Drawing (.odg)
- Excel 97-2003 (.xls)
- Rich Text Format (.rtf)
- EPUB (.epub)
Legacy Excel and ODF files, which previously could not be indexed, are now converted and searchable. Upload and format checks in the Control Panel and backend have also been aligned so these formats are no longer rejected at upload.
